Alternate Side Parking

Alternate Side Parking Required starting November 15th. No person shall park a motor vehicle, trailer, or similar vehicles on any streets or roads in the Village of Windsor between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. from November 15th to April 15th of each year, except that vehicles may be parked on the even house numbered sides of the streets on even numbered days of the month, and on the odd house numbered sides of the street on the odd numbered days of the month. The odd or even numbered days shall be that day which the car was standing on the street, between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m.




Sec. 48-222. Alternate side parking in winter months.

(a)      Parking defined. Leaving a motor vehicle, trailer or any other movable equipment, or permitting any of such vehicles to remain, on a road or within a road right-of-way, unattended.

(b)     When permitted. No person shall park a motor vehicle, trailer, or similar vehicles on any Village road between 1:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. from November 15 to April 15 of each year, except that vehicles may be parked on the even house numbered sides of the road between 1:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on even-numbered days of the month, and on odd house numbered sides of the road on odd-numbered days of the month. The odd or even numbered days shall be that day which the car was standing on the street between 1:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

(c)      Exceptions. This section does not apply to the temporary stopping of emergency or law enforcement vehicles, and business vehicles that are temporarily stopped with the motor running while being used for pick-ups or deliveries.

(d)     Removal. Any vehicle unlawfully parked under this section may be removed from the road by order of the Village Public Works Supervisor or a law enforcement officer. All expenses of moving and storing such vehicle, trailer, or equipment shall be paid by the operator or owner of the vehicle in addition to the penalties hereafter prescribed.
